15th April 2005 - Red Flag Software Co Ltd (Red Flag), the largest Chinese operating systems company in China announces today its collaboration with Resolvo to integrate their Windows-to-Linux Migration tool, MoveOver into Red Flag’s Linux Desktop.

MoveOver is the world’s first multi-lingual wizard-driven migration tool that migrates user’s Windows environment to a new Linux Desktop within few clicks of button. MoveOver also significantly reduces cost by reducing up to 90% of the time it takes to migrate all documents, emails, wallpapers, Internet bookmarks and other user-specific preferences. Currently, MoveOver is already certified on leading enterprise Linux desktops such as Novell Linux Desktop and Sun Microsystems’s Java Desktop System.

IDC Nov 2004 report stated that Red Flag commanded 40% of the worldwide paid Linux desktop shipments in 2003, thus making it the Number 1 leader in this market. “Red Flag is one of the top Linux desktop leaders which we are collaborating with to drive the global adoption of Linux desktops. “With MoveOver focusing on solving user desktop migration issue from Windows to Red Flag desktop operating systems, we believe that it will further enhance Red Flag’s leadership in the desktop space. According to IDC 2004 report, Linux desktop operating system occupies 3% of the worldwide desktops in 2003. It is forecast that by year 2008, the adoption would increase the market share to 7%. The main reason for the current low adoption of Linux desktop lies in the tedious migration process from Windows.
