At Computex in Taipei (1st -5th June 2010), Red Flag demonstrated Midinux® 3.0 based on optimized MeeGo* solutions that deliver visually rich, Internet and media experiences on Intel® Atom™ processor-based devices. This is the warm up before the official release of Midinux 3.0 for Next Generation Handsets, tablets and other innovative mobile devices..
Since the inception of the MeeGo project, Red Flag has released Midinux 2.0 and now upgraded to Midinux 3.0. Midinux 3.0 with its 3D interface and multiple applications are based on MeeGo technology running on devices based on the Intel Atom processor. After the official release of Midinux 3.0, Red Flag will cooperate with partners to develop new products to meet consumer demand for the increasingly diverse Internet experience.
Midinux 3.0 develops and integrates the latest free open source software. The new graphics technology and 3D user interface brings you new and stunning visual, listening and touch experience. The features include voice and text messaging in mobile phones. Capacitive touch is another highlighted feature that realizes sensitive multi-point touch. Multi Desktop feature allows you to do multi-tasking and switch between applications seamlessly.
“"Midinux 3.0 integrates Red Flag Software and MeeGo, an industry leading technology, to provide a rich, powerful and easy to build mobile software platform. This helps ODM and OEMs to rapidly respond to market demand and launch their products," said Li Wenjie, Director of MID division, Red Flag.
“Red Flag can meet increasing consumer expectations by taking advantage of the early features available in MeeGo v1.0,” said Jim Zemlin, executive director at The Linux Foundation. “MeeGo is providing the media-rich foundation from which Red Flag can position its leadership for supporting next-generation computing devices.”
The Red Flag Midinux operating system is the world's first to support the Linux operating system for MID. It brings together the Red Flag Linux operating system software technology and the design for new mobile computing experience for consumers. As the mobile internet requires mobile device features, smaller screens and a new mode of operation, the open, customizable, high-performance and high-security features of Linux makes it ideal for MID, tablets and other devices on the edge. After the formal launch Midinux 3.0, Red Flag will work closely with partners to provide customized solutions and reliable local support. Midinux 3.0 partners will develop key value added solutions with reduced time to market to immerse consumer in a new internet experience.
